Guest Speaker was Michael Radcliffe, who spoke on the Winnipeg Titanic Connection. It was an excellent and fascinating presentation. Weather conditions kept a lot of usual attendees at home but those who were in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.

Meeting attendees enjoyed coffee and socializing at 9:30.

BUSINESS ARISING

a) Financial Report (Elena Grinshteyn)

Endowment Fund stands at $73,313 and the non-Endowed at $3570.

b) Membership: There are approximately 110 paid members to date.

There were 24 responses to the mailing to members for donations to the Endowment Fund, which brought in $3540. Donations are matched by the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative (MSBI) and the fund has grown by $7080. Another mailing for the end of August is being considered.

c) May Wind-up

No report. The Water Treatment Plant does not conduct tours.

NEW BUSINESS

a) The March Meeting will be held at Paterson Global Foods. More information to follow in February.

b) RRC’s 75th Anniversary: Jakee Werbuk is the project manager for the anniversary celebrations.
     Several events, including a signature event, are planned and the Heritage Group’s input will be requested.

OTHER BUSINESS

a) Ron Blicq feels it is time to retire as Heritage Group Newsletter editor. Michael Gale has volunteered to take the position. All agreed that Ron has done an admirable job and his work is much appreciated.

b) Heritage Group Awards Committee. Arnold Kolaski has volunteered to sit on the committee. One more volunteer is required.
