Elena reported that the Endowed Fund is at $81,553 and the non-endowed at $10,287. Since interest rates have dropped, it was decided to reserve about $5000. The Awards Committee will give 5 or 6 awards at $1000 each.
A scholarship brochure has been developed.
Discussion regarding a Canadian Museum of Human Rights subsidy of 50% or a subsidy towards a Heritage Group November Celebration was deferred.
Heritage Group Blog – Guy Dugas
Guy reported that there have been 20 different visitors since February 9. Donations to the Heritage Group Endowment Fund may be made on the Blog.
May Wind-up
The entrance fee at the Human Rights Museum ($13.60 per person) can be used as part payment for a membership. Those who already have memberships should let us know they will be attending. It is suggested that we arrive at 9:45 a.m. for the 10 a.m. tour (approx one and one half hours). As to lunch, those who plan to attend should check the restaurants on the blog by April. There is a survey to be filled out to determine the choice of restaurant.
Historical Artifacts Proposal
The proposal was sent to David Rew, who passed it on to Patty Johanson; however, the response was very disappointing .
NEW BUSINESS
