Thirty of us whooped it up at this year’s Dinner Dance held November 19th in the Patterson GlobalFoods Institute Annex, overlooking the Bijou Park in the Exchange. The setting was splendid and the dance tunes delightfully dated (mainly R&R classics from the 50s onward). As expected, PGI Event Chef extraordinaire, John Royal, served up a marvelous menu that included a vegetable and chick pea curry, poached salmon, and a mustard and herb crusted pork loin.
Special thanks are owed to Jeff Gill, Director of Food Services, and Michael Blahuta, Restaurant Manager, for pulling it all together, and to Jenna Feener, our Events’ Coordinator who helped with logistics. They all helped make us feel very special.
Of course, the whole idea originated with our dedicated Social Committee (John Reimers, Glen Baldwin, Liz Omeniuk, and intrepid Chair Gail Shimonek) who went above and beyond to also procure and wrap an impressive abundance of door prizes.

Door prize winners, left to right: Sandi Staynor, Sherry Ripak, Norma Baldwin, Isabel Bright, Karen Wall, Clark and Allison Cowell, Valdi Johsnon, Dorothy Derksen, Bluma Levine, Dale Watts, Lynne and John Graeb
And none of this would have been possible without the generous time and infectious enthusiasm of Elena Grinshteyn and additional support from Janice Lowry, both from RRC’s Development Office.
A terrific time was had by all, and we can’t wait to see what our Social Committee has in store for us next!
See you all next year!
