In a recent post, the Red most appropriately featured 1993 CreComm grad and CTV Winnipeg sports director, Shawn Churchill, following his induction into the Manitoba Media Roll of Honour at the the 60th annual Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association awards dinner on January 22nd.

What the Red Blog neglected to mention, however, was that the other inductee this year was David Komosky. Dave graduated with the second Creative Communications class in 1972. He was the very first CreComm graduate to get a full-time job in sports as a reporter for the Winnipeg Tribune. He later worked in Calgary and Saskatoon and as sports editor of the Winnipeg Sun. He also managed the National Post sports coverage for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Our kudos to Dave!
And our thanks to Kent Morgan for setting the record straight.
James Turner, by the way, is a former Winnipeg Free Press justice and police reporter who now teaches journalism in RRC’s CreComm program
