Guest Speaker was John B. Lowe, Education Director, Prairie Theatre Exchange. His presentation on “Behind the Scenes: Making Movies in Manitoba” was very entertaining .
Steve Lipischak announced a STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) Open House on May 23 at 10:30 a.m. on Aviation Road.

Chair called the meeting to order at 11:20 p.m. after the speaker and a coffee break.

Correction to April 16 Minutes. Gifts for Guest Speakers: Speakers from outside the College will receive Dave Williamson’s book about the College and College speakers will receive a coffee mug or a Tim Horton’s gift card. (Ron Blicq, John Graeb)
BUSINESS ARISING
Financial Report
Elena reported that the re have been 62 donors to the Heritage Fund ($1,975). Endowed Fund is at $$82,078 and the non-endowed at $11,465 (less the $6,250 given in Heritage Group awards in March).
Mary Hayes reported that the Awards Committee gave out four awards of $1000 and three of $750 this year, Students from Applied Counsel ling, ACCESS Nursing, Business Administration, and Medical Radiologic Technology received the awards.
There is a May 6 Donor Appreciation Event at the College
Heritage Group Wind-up
Tour of the Human Rights Museum on May 21 and lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory; tickets are $13.60 per person and can be used as part payment for a membership. Those who already have memberships should let us know they will be attending. It is suggested that members meet at 9:45 a.m. for the 10 a.m. tour (approx one and a half hours).

NEW BUSINESS
Chair’s Report. Dale presented a report of the last year’s activities.
Election
John Graeb will assume the position of Chair. Dale asked for nominations for Vice Chair. Dorothy nominated Leslie Walsh. Seconded by Guy Dugas. Allison Howell moved that nominations close. Seconded by Pat Daly. Leslie Walsh will assume the position of Vice Chair for the 2015-16 year.
Gail Shimonek thanked the Social Committee members for their work this past year. The committee consisted of Karen Wall, Liz Omeniuk, Steve Lipischak, Glenn Baldwin, and John Reimers, who stepped in as Chair when Gail was unavailable.
Social Committee meeting will be held at the Crusty Bun on May 20 at 9:30.
Dorothy Derksen received thanks for her delicious baking. Dorothy has been baking for every meeting.
