The 28 Heritage Group members who attended the St. Patrick’s Day luncheon on March 17th were from a variety of cultures… but that day they were all Irish!  It was a sea of green… shirts, tops, hats, shoes, earrings, necklaces, pins and badges all proclaiming a love for the Emerald Isle.   To add to the theme, each person was treated to a little Irish “goody gift” upon arrival.

The buffet luncheon was held at the Canad Inn Polo Park, and while the food wasn’t Irish, it was plentiful and delicious.   Conversations were lively and animated (and likely full of a lot of blarney), and it was clear that everyone was relaxed and having a great time.

The event ended with a draw for 10 special Irish-themed door prizes, including such items as T-shirts, CDs, hats, gloves, tea towels, and mugs.  Best of all, each door prize was accompanied by a wee nip of Irish spirits… either a can of Guinness beer or a miniature bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream.

All agreed luncheons where we can just chat and visit with old colleagues and friends should become a regular event on our Heritage Club calendar.
